CityGuide Nuremberg
Nurnberg is often associated with its internationally renowned Christmas market, yet this city is well worth visiting at other times of year too; the state theatre puts on operas, plays and ballet, the Burgtheater specializes in cabaret and the Bühne Altstadthof performs Franconian works whilst the Museumtheater puts on historical plays. The Albrecht Dürer house and museum is a must see as is the Nurnberg castle and the historical toy museum. This city features countless other galleries, museums and theatres as well as so-called cultural joints. These establishments were first founded in Nurnberg in 1975and were designed as creative spaces for people of all ages, nationalities and social classes. Furthermore, the Nurnberg Insurance Arena and the Frankenhalle host an eclectic mix of festivals whilst readings take place in the historical remnants of the Katharinenkloster. A traditional locally produced sausage completes the Nurnberg experience.
